NFD have released their second album, ‘Dead Pool Rising’. It follows on from their critically acclaimed debut ‘No Love Lost’ issued in late 2004. A taster single ‘Light My Way’ was released on 7”, CD and download in April. NFD have a distinguished rock background. They comprise Tony Pettitt, the Fields Of The Nephilim founder-bassist, who teamed up with vocalist/guitarist Peter ‘Bob’ White and drummer Simon Rippin when the Nephilim reunion floundered in 2002. Simon was also previously in Fields of the Nephilim, as well as together with Bob in Sensorium. For live gigs they bring in two extra guitarists, Chris Milden and Steve Carey. The Nephilim roots gave them attention from that band’s still devoted following, but press reviews surpassed any casual goodwill. "Some of the best gothic rock music produced since the late 80’s” was Rock Sounds’ verdict. Metal Hammer said: "An absolute must-have.” and for Sonic Seducer it’s “Possibly THE gothrock album of the year.” The German press support the band with regular features in Zillo, Orkus & Sonic Seducer magazines. Early press reviews of ‘Dead Pool Rising’ agree it is “as good as The Nephilim at their apex – NFD are a rock band with gothic trappings” ; Classic Rock says it’s “Enthralling - reminiscent of The Nephilim but with a thoroughly modern big rock sheen.” NFD have performed at numerous festivals, both in the UK (Whitby headline, Dark City, Witchfest) and Germany (Mera Luna, Zillo, Wave-Gotik Treffen, Burgnachte, Herbsnachte) and toured UK & Europe on their own and with Mortiis, Umbro Et Imago & The Mission. In June they played The Barfly, The Mean Fiddler for their new London ‘Fright Club’ filmed by Redemption TV; tour Europe in September and now headline the Underworld filmed by TG2/ Extreme on Oct. 6th; Carnival Of Souls festival on Oct. 15th and much more to come.
