NFD

NFD was formed by Peter 'Bob' White (vocals & guitars) Simon Rippin (drums and programming) and Tony Pettitt (bass guitar), all of whom have mainstay considerable experience in the UK goth and rock scene.

Tony Pettitt was a founder-member of the legendary Goth outfit FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM. Simon Rippin had been a member of the Goth Rock band THE NEFILIM and also performed alongside Tony with FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM on a headlining Festival tour of Europe in 2000 playing to audiences of 20,000 and more. Bob White meanwhile had been playing together with Simon in London band SENSORIUM. When playing live, two other guitarists augment the trio: Chris Milden and Stephen Carey, giving Bob the freedom to leap around the stage.

NFD spent a long time writing and recording demos and developing their sound. At first Tony’s contribution was on a part-time basis, but when his recent marathon Nephilim album sessions ended in 2002 he decided to join NFD full time, adding his own distinctive mark to the music. They soon attracted the attention of many notable studio producers such as Greg Brimson (Bush, Metallica, Eminem), and Cubanate’s Marc Heal before cementing a working relationship with Neil Brockbank (Roxy Music, Nick Lowe, Killing Joke etc).

NFD takes the best parts of classic Goth Rock such as Fields of the Nephilim and combine it with elements of more modern types of music creating something that has never before been seen. Building on the dark emotional power of The Nephilim and brought right up to date with a contemporary rock sound, NFD bring something new and refreshing to their music. With songs full of hooks, a strong stage presence, dynamic image and a band that is eager to work live to share their music with world, NFD are poised to gain the affections of fans of dark rock music everywhere.

NFD release their debut EP, ‘Break The Silence EP’ CD-single, simultaneously with the ‘No Love Lost’ 7”, on Jungle Records on August 25th.
